Role Overview:

As a Quality Engineer at BLK BOX, you’ll be at the heart of our commitment to delivering exceptional products. You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of our products by developing and maintaining robust quality processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and proactively solving problems. Your work will directly contribute to customer satisfaction, product reliability, and continuous improvement.

You’ll have the chance to influence product quality from concept to delivery, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed industry standards. While you’ll mainly focus on internally manufactured and purchased product quality control, you’ll also have the opportunity to interact with customers to resolve any quality concerns.

 

Responsibilities - Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and enhance quality processes: Implement systems that ensure compliance with industry standards and internal specifications.
• Conduct inspections and audits: Regularly check materials, components, and finished products to verify adherence to quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve quality, increase efficiency, and enhance product reliability.
• Root cause analysis: Investigate quality issues and lead corrective and preventative actions to resolve them.
• Track and report quality metrics: Monitor performance and identify trends to improve the product and overall quality control process.

 

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

• Cross-functional teamwork: Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Production, and Procurement teams to ensure quality standards are met at every stage of the New Product Development cycle.
• Problem-solving leadership: Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives, using methodologies like 3C and 8D to resolve challenges.
• Process control tools: Facilitate the use of tools such as PFMEA and Control Plans to improve Quality Assurance across teams.

 

Customer Interaction:

• Address customer feedback: Investigate product quality complaints and ensure timely resolution while maintaining clear communication with customers.
• Provide expertise: Offer technical guidance to customers about product performance and standards compliance.
• Represent BLK BOX: Support supplier audits and customer visits, building trust in our products and processes.

 

The Ideal Candidate - You'd be the perfect fit if you possess:

• Technical expertise: Strong understanding of quality standards, engineering drawings, and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
• Problem-solving mindset: Analytical and detail-oriented, with experience in tools like 8D, Root Cause Analysis, or Six Sigma.
• Effective communicator: Clear and confident in liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.
• Attention to detail: Keen ability to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
• Customer-focused: Committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction while balancing internal priorities.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field.
• Proven experience in a Quality role within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QMS) with desirable knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 5817 and ISO 20957
• Proficiency with measurement tools and techniques.
